Supervisor Maintenance & Custodial Services SUMMARY OF PURPOSE This position provides students with a physical environment that is safe, clean, attractive, and pleasant.
This position is accountable for the supervision of the custodial staff in a particular building.
Critical areas include scheduling custodians, supervising the tasks, inspecting work, identifying maintenance problems, training of new custodial personnel, handling teaching staff complaints, and maintaining appropriate records of custodial activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Schedules and supervises all custodial personnel within the school.
Initiates orders for custodial supplies.
Interviews, with Supervisor of Maintenance and Custodial Services and SOSL personnel, and recommends custodial personnel for employment within the school.
Conducts periodic inspections of the school facility for cleanliness and safety.
Checks school calendar on a daily basis for upcoming activities and distribute work as necessary.
Provides job coverage (via substitutes) in case of employee absence.
Organizes custodians into groups for summer house cleaning.
Works directly with the Supervisor of Maintenance and Custodial Services regarding annual custodial performance evaluations.
Identifies maintenance problems in the school and channels work order to maintenance staff.
Trains new custodial personnel in the high school Presents a good public image and creates good public relations within the community.
Demands the same from all custodial personnel in their school.
